This morning, I hurled open my patio furniture covers and curled up excitedly with a book in hand. I thought about the uncomplicated pleasure of the summer days ahead and my mind started to drift.
I imagined an afternoon high tea in my garden patio serving Kampong treats for a small group - a gathering that delights the taste buds amidst the beauty of mother nature, where unlikely friendships blossom and a sense of community develops. A memorable experience in an intimate space that connects us because of the food we enjoy! With California set to open on June 15, perhaps this may not seem as far fetched after all. Meanwhile, this month's offering features Sago Rose, a bouncy jello like kuih* made from tapioca pearls coated with grated coconut. It is mildly sweetened with rose flavored syrup and can be served at room temperature (great for picnics) or chilled (perfect for those hot summer days).

*Kuih is a traditional bite-sized snack commonly found in South East Asia. It can be sweet or savory, great for dessert, breakfast and tea time
INGREDIENTS:
As always, fresh organic ingredients are used where available and no artificial coloring. Best for same day consumption.
Kuihs in Sweet Box can be refrigerated and gently reheated the next day by steaming or intermittent microwave heat until soft and warm.
Spiral Curry Puff can be store in the fridge and reheat at 350F in the oven for 5 minutes or until heated through.
Pandan Chiffon Cake can be stored in air tight container at room temperature and best consumed within 3 days.
