February 27, 2022 - Nian Gao Fritters
Apparently, everyday is a holiday and anyone can create a holiday - how about that! What holiday would you create? Today (among the many holidays you can choose to celebrate), happens to be No Brainer Day, where one is encourage to relax and not over think things. I hope your Sunday is off to a good start in keeping things simple.
For my next offering, the sweet box will feature Niangao sandwich fritter. These treats are typically sold as street food in Malaysia along with banana fritters. Rice cake is sandwiched between slices of sweet potato and purple yam, then dipped in batter and deep fried to golden perfection. It's light and crispy on the outside, chewy and lightly sweetened on the inside. Also included in the sweet box is all time favorite treat, Loh Mai Chi (peanut mochi).
For those who wants more of Malaysia, do try the simple Nasi Lemak with Acar. It's usually one of the food that Malaysians miss most from home.
All that and more (Pandan Chiffon Cake, Spiral Curry Puff and Caramel Kaya) can be ordered here for pick up or delivery on Friday, March 4 or Saturday March 5. Order form will be closed 8pm, Tuesday, March 1 or sooner if at capacity. Portions of proceed will benefit Children in Ukraine through Neighbors Abroad.
May your choice of treats be a no brainer activity today!
