Happy new year! I hope you all had a good start to the new year - I am filled with excitement, hope and anticipation for what awaits in 2020 and beyond as I challenge myself to do something I've been wanting to do for a while.
I am embarking on a journey to share my passion in food by offering a series of delectable Malaysian fare. I'm sure you'll agree that food is a universal language, making it a great way to connect. I hope to introduce you to new flavors or rekindle old favorites. Everything will be handcrafted from scratch, in small batches, using quality ingredients and infused with a healthy dose of love, just like how it is at home.
Growing up in Malaysia, pineapple tart is a quintessential cookie for the Lunar New Year celebration - a British Colonial legacy that has been assimilated into the local Nyonya cuisine. The Pineapple tart is a delicate bite sized morsel of spiced pineapple jam enveloped in a buttery and flaky pastry. It symbolizes prosperity and good fortune. Eat one and you can't help but feel a smile of contentment form across your face as it melts in your mouth with just the right balance of sweetness and hint of spice. The downside is they can be dangerously addictive.
I hope you'll join me on this journey - ping me to subscribe to my newsletter and introduce me to your friends who would appreciate a culinary adventure.
